The Telangana government has announced a set of administrative reforms aimed at strengthening rural governance and improving welfare delivery systems.

Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has directed officials to ensure that salaries of around 50,000 gram panchayat employees are credited on the first day of every month without delay. He stressed that timely payment must be strictly enforced across departments, including contract and outsourced staff , and warned that any delay in disbursing wages would not be tolerated.

The state will allocate approximately ₹50 crore every month to meet the salary requirements of panchayat employees. The Chief Minister emphasized that grassroots workers should receive salaries on par with other government employees in terms of punctuality.

In a move to strengthen local body finances , the government has decided to restore an earlier policy that was discontinued in the past. Under the revised approach, revenue generated by gram panchayats will be directly credited into their respective bank accounts instead of being routed through the state treasury, thereby improving financial autonomy at the village level.

The government has also approved changes to the social security pension system . Pension payments, which are currently distributed through the postal department, will now be directly transferred to beneficiaries’ bank accounts .

Officials have been instructed to use Aadhaar details , voter ID records, and data from the state’s socio-economic survey to ensure accurate identification of eligible beneficiaries and improve transparency in welfare delivery.
