Telangana Gears Up for Grand Medaram Sammakka–Saralamma Maha Jatara

The Telangana government has made comprehensive arrangements for the Sammakka–Saralamma Medaram Maha Jatara 2026 , Asia’s largest tribal festival . Under the leadership of Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy , the government has drawn up a foolproof plan, anticipating the arrival of around three crore devotees , to ensure smooth darshan without any inconvenience. Senior officials have already stationed themselves in and around Medaram to closely monitor the arrangements.

To ensure the festival is conducted smoothly, the entire area has been divided into eight zones and 42 sectors . A total of 42,027 personnel from 21 government departments , along with 2,000 tribal volunteers , will render services. For the safety of devotees, 210 swimmers , 100 SDRF teams , and 15 fire engines have been deployed.

For communication facilities, 27 permanent and 33 temporary mobile towers , along with 450 VHF sets , have been installed. To facilitate transportation, 42 parking areas spread over 1,418 acres have been prepared. As many as 4,000 TSRTC buses will operate 51,000 trips , with 10,441 RTC staff deployed on duty.

For devotees’ convenience, 5,482 drinking water points , 119 dressing rooms near Jampanna Vagu , 5,700 toilets , and 5,000 sanitation workers have been arranged. To ensure uninterrupted power supply, 196 transformers , 911 electric poles , and 28 backup generators have been made ready. Giving top priority to health and safety , the government has deployed 5,192 medical staff , 30 ambulances , 40 bike ambulances , a 50-bed hospital , and 30 medical camps daily . Additionally, 268 fire services personnel will be on standby.

To cater to media requirements, a modern Advanced Media Center has been set up with facilities including high-speed internet (100+100 Mbps) and 20 high-end computers . With the safety, dignity, and convenience of devotees as its prime objective, the Telangana government is committed to organizing the Medaram Maha Jatara as a world-class spiritual event .
