Telangana eyes long-term tech & clean energy alliances with Canada, France
Telangana is fast expanding its global investment diplomacy drive by engaging directly with countries that offer high innovation capital and advanced research collaboration potential. In this direction, Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy held consecutive meetings in Hyderabad with diplomatic delegations of Canada and France. These meetings assume significance as Telangana prepares a long-term roadmap to compete not just within India but with global innovation hubs across Asia and the West with deep-tech, clean-tech and advanced manufacturing driven economic growth.
The CM explained the state’s flagship “Telangana Rising 2047” vision to the Canadian High Commissioner Christopher Cooter and invited Canadian companies to invest in emerging areas including startups, advanced research centres, skill development, higher education and aerospace ecosystems. Both sides agreed to organise an “Invest Telangana – Canada Roadshow” in Toronto and Montreal in 2026 and form a Joint Working Group to explore structured collaboration opportunities.
In another meeting, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy interacted with French Consul General Marc Lamy and reviewed the progress of projects being supported by French institutions in Hyderabad. He suggested strengthening the French Bureau office in Hyderabad and sought deeper project partnerships in Smart City development, clean energy, urban mobility, environment protection and IT-Pharma cooperation. As Europe increasingly expands its role in clean technology, sustainability and resilient urban planning, Telangana believes French collaboration can significantly strengthen Hyderabad’s transition into a leading clean-tech capital in South Asia.
Both these engagements reflect Telangana’s strategic move to transform itself from a manufacturing-based investor-receiving state into an international innovation partnering state with long-term technology, research and education linkages. At a time when global investors are diversifying outside China and searching for reliable stable innovation clusters, the Telangana government believes the state offers low-risk, policy-stable and talent-rich advantages that can attract long-term foreign capital. The state is now shaping a model where economic diplomacy, foreign partnership corridors and global knowledge exchange will play a key role in driving the next phase of growth before 2030.
