Telangana Expands Industrial Push at Davos, Andhra Takes Swarna Andhra Brand Global
Telangana and Andhra Pradesh have intensified their global investor outreach at the World Economic Forum (WEF) Annual Meeting 2026 in Davos, pitching themselves as competitive destinations for clean energy, aviation services, advanced manufacturing, data centres and artificial intelligence . While Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy focused on securing investment commitments through MoUs and expressions of interest, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu used the international platform to project the vision of “Swarna Andhra” , underlining the importance of branding, speed-driven governance reforms and sustainability-led industrial expansion.
Telangana’s Davos engagements have yielded several key announcements. US-based aviation services firm Sargent signed an MoU to establish a Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) facility in the State, with an estimated investment of Rs 1,000 crore in phases over the next three to five years. Industrial major Rashmi Group signed an MoU committing Rs 12,500 crore to set up a steel plant , expected to create around 12,000 direct and indirect jobs . Telangana also received an Expression of Interest (EoI) from Slovakia-based Nuclear Products for a Small Modular Reactor (SMR) -based clean energy project valued at 600 million euros (around Rs 6,000 crore) with capacity of up to 300 MW . California-based AI firm Blaize signed an MoU to explore expanding its R&D and engineering centre in Hyderabad , while global brewing major AB InBev announced further investment plans to expand its existing Telangana operations.
Adding to the narrative, Telangana is pitching a structured economic model to global investors by carving the State into three growth engines the Core Urban Region Economy (CURE) for services, the Peri-Urban Region Economy (PURE) for manufacturing, and the Rural Agri Region Economy (RARE) for agriculture and the green economy aimed at balanced regional development. Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has been highlighting decentralised industrialisation as a key plank, pointing to the State’s plans for new airports in Warangal and Adilabad and inviting companies to explore investment opportunities beyond Hyderabad with strong incentive support. The strategy is intended to strengthen local supply chains, generate MSME-linked opportunities and expand Telangana’s industrial footprint across regions.
In parallel, Andhra Pradesh has projected Davos as a high-impact stage to position Swarna Andhra as a global investment brand. Naidu stressed that branding is essential to attract capital and accelerate development, arguing that investment-led growth ultimately strengthens welfare delivery. He said Andhra Pradesh is moving beyond “Ease of Doing Business” to a “Speed of Doing” governance model through real-time digital monitoring of approvals, ensuring industries move faster from permissions to production. He also pitched a new incentive delivery system routed through escrow accounts to boost transparency and investor confidence.
Naidu’s Davos meetings also included engagement with Israeli representatives and diplomats, proposing an Israel Industrial Park in Andhra Pradesh as a dedicated hub for Israeli firms. Discussions with Israel’s Economy and Industry Minister Nir Barkat , Trade Commissioner Roey Fisher , and officials of Israel’s economic mission covered collaboration in Med-Tech, Aero-Defence and Clean-Tech , besides allied areas such as aerospace manufacturing, drones, desalination technologies and groundwater quality improvement.
Davos outreach is also translating into big investment interest. Reports indicated that RMZ Group pitched investments of up to $10 billion for a GCC park in Visakhapatnam, a hyperscale data centre cluster and industrial-logistics infrastructure. IT Minister Nara Lokesh held discussions with Brookfield on long-term investment partnership, invited Scale AI to collaborate in building an AI Centre of Excellence in Vizag , and met Japan’s energy major JERA for investments in green ammonia production and clean-energy projects near port-linked clusters.
With multiple high-level meetings still lined up, both states are expected to announce more outcomes before the WEF summit concludes. The WEF Annual Meeting 2026 is scheduled to run until January 23 , keeping the final tally of deals and investment commitments wide open. As Telangana and Andhra Pradesh compete to convert global interest into on-ground projects, the big question remains: how much more will they bag by the closing day? The answer could define the real Davos dividend and for now, the investment race is far from over.
