Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has highlighted the state as a top destination for global investment, citing its world-class infrastructure, investor-friendly policies, and strategic geographic location. Speaking at the U.S.-India Strategic Partnership Summit in Delhi, he described Hyderabad as the gateway for investment in India, offering safety, accessibility, and a thriving business environment.

CM Revanth emphasized Telangana’s demographic advantage, with a large young population and one of the fastest-growing economies in the country. Despite 35 years of governance by various parties, he noted that the state has consistently remained supportive of investors and industry. Hyderabad, already a hub for global corporations, is being positioned to attract even more investment, including from GCC countries.

World-class infrastructure and urban development

Outlining the state government’s achievements over the past 23 months, CM Revanth said Telangana is developing ‘Bharat Future City’ - a 30,000-acre urban project built to international standards. He explained that the revival of the Musi River will transform Hyderabad into a vibrant “night economy,” comparable to London, Tokyo, Dubai, and Seoul’s riverfronts.

Key infrastructure projects include the Dryport, metro network expansion, regional ring roads, radial roads, and manufacturing zones between the ORR and RRR corridors. CM Revanth stressed that Telangana is prepared to offer a global response to the “China Plus One” model, attracting manufacturing and investment.

Education and innovation

The CM also invited top international universities like Harvard, Stanford, and Oxford to establish offshore campuses in Hyderabad. He highlighted that students from the Global South could access high-quality education at lower costs with simplified visa processes, positioning Telangana as an emerging hub for world-class education.

In an innovative move, CM Revanth suggested renaming major city roads after global companies such as Google, Meta, TCS, and Infosys, instead of the traditional practice of naming them after political leaders, signaling a shift toward a business-friendly urban identity.

Global response and investor interest

Telangana’s “Rising 2047” vision and the CM’s goal of transforming the state into a trillion-dollar economy received enthusiastic responses at the summit. Former Cisco CEO John Chambers praised Telangana’s ambitious, transparent, and achievable plans, noting their strong social and economic impact. Summit attendees expressed keen interest in attending the upcoming Telangana Rising Global Summit on December 8-9 in Hyderabad to explore investment opportunities and witness the state’s vision firsthand.
