Telangana Election Commission Extends Graduate MLC Voter Registration Deadline

The Telangana Election Commission has decided to provide additional time for graduate voter enrolment after technical issues on its online portal disrupted the submission of applications for the upcoming MLC elections.

State Chief Electoral Officer C. Sudarshan Reddy announced the decision on Tuesday, citing server disruptions and technical glitches that affected the online registration process. The problems reportedly prevented several eligible graduates from submitting their applications within the stipulated timeframe. Following the extension, the immediate deadline for submitting applications through Form-18 has been fixed as November 6, 2026.

The revised schedule applies to the Warangal-Khammam-Nalgonda Graduates' Constituency and the Mahabubnagar-Rangareddy-Hyderabad Graduates' Constituency, with November 1, 2026, serving as the qualifying date for the preparation of electoral rolls.

The Election Commission has also clarified that graduates will have further opportunities to submit Form-18 applications beyond November 6. Applications will be accepted during the claims and objections period from November 25 to December 10. Another registration window will open from December 30, the date of final publication of the electoral rolls, and continue until the last date for filing nominations for the respective constituencies.

The decision follows representations submitted by several political parties to the Election Commission, requesting additional time for voter registration. The parties highlighted the technical problems encountered by applicants and urged authorities to ensure that eligible graduates were not excluded from the electoral process due to disruptions in the online system.

Meanwhile, the draft electoral rolls will be published on November 25, allowing graduates to verify their details and raise objections or seek corrections between November 25 and December 10. The final electoral rolls are scheduled to be published on December 30, 2026.

The extended registration opportunities are expected to benefit graduates who have not yet enrolled and provide them with multiple chances to complete the process ahead of the forthcoming Telangana Graduate MLC elections.
