Telangana DGP Launches ‘TG-VEER’ Portal for Police Martyrs’ Families

Telangana Director General of Police C.V. Anand on Sunday launched the ‘TG-VEER’ portal, a dedicated platform to address grievances and welfare-related concerns of families of police personnel who lost their lives in the line of duty.

During his visit to Warangal, Anand met the families of 28 police martyrs from the Warangal Commissionerate who were killed while fighting Left-Wing Extremism. He listened to their concerns and reviewed the issues they have been facing in accessing various government benefits.

The TG-VEER portal has been designed as a single-window grievance platform through which martyr families can submit complaints relating to financial assistance, ex-gratia, compassionate appointments, house-site allotments, pensions and other welfare benefits. The portal will also contain each martyr’s service details, family information, benefits already provided and relevant government orders.

The system enables senior police officials to monitor grievances from the unit level to the State level and track their progress until they are resolved. Anand directed the Special Intelligence Branch (SIB) officials who developed the portal to immediately inform all police units about the initiative and collect details of pending grievances from martyr families. He asked them to consolidate the information and submit a comprehensive report.

The families raised several long-standing concerns during the meeting, including ex-gratia and financial assistance, house-site allocation, registration and title-related issues, pensions and other welfare matters. Anand assured them that their grievances would be taken up with the government and efforts would be made to secure appropriate solutions.

The DGP also distributed special family cards with QR codes to the families. By scanning the QR code, beneficiaries can directly access the TG-VEER grievance portal and submit their concerns.

Recalling his association with Warangal, Anand said he began his police career as an ASP in Warangal Rural Sub-Division when Left-Wing Extremism was at its peak. Recalling the ambushes and encounters faced by police personnel during that period, he said the peace prevailing in the region today was made possible by the sacrifices of police martyrs.

He said police officers and personnel who placed duty above their lives and made the ultimate sacrifice would always be remembered.
