The Telangana Cabinet is scheduled to meet at 3 pm today at the Dr BR Ambedkar Telangana Secretariat in Hyderabad, Chief Secretary Sanjay Jaju said. The meeting comes at a crucial juncture for the state government, with employee relief, land administration, irrigation, urban infrastructure and major development projects expected to figure prominently in the discussions.

The 37th Cabinet meeting, chaired by Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, will be held on the sixth floor of the Secretariat. The General Administration Department has issued an official circular confirming the meeting. Among the key issues expected to be considered are two pending Dearness Allowance (DA) installments for government employees, teachers and pensioners. The government is reportedly planning to implement the two DAs around Dasara, with six installments currently pending. It has also indicated that nearly ₹10,000 crore in employee and pensioner arrears could be cleared by March 2027.

The Cabinet is also likely to take up 22-A land issues, including measures to speed up registrations and resolve long-pending cases. The government has already initiated a framework covering pending registrations, Urban Land Ceiling cases and eligible properties in approved layouts.

Kaleshwaram and irrigation are expected to receive considerable attention. The government is examining the project's future irrigation utilisation and rehabilitation of the Medigadda, Annaram and Sundilla barrages. Repair work is expected to begin around mid-November, with completion targeted before the 2027 monsoon. The August 14 Cabinet had also approved ₹2,100 crore for Phase-II of the Makthal-Narayanpet-Kodangal Lift Irrigation Project.

Urban infrastructure could form another major component, with discussions expected on the Hyderabad Metro Phase-I takeover, Phase-II expansion, Musi Riverfront land acquisition and Regional Ring Road funding. SBICAPS has been appointed to examine Metro Phase-I valuation, financing and takeover requirements.

The government may also review Bharat Future City -related infrastructure and land matters ahead of the Telangana Rising Global Summit, though it has not been confirmed as a specific Cabinet agenda item. The Future City Development Authority is already operational.

Meanwhile, the earlier ₹1,100-crore KBR Park corridor plan, involving 14 flyovers and underpasses, has been scrapped and replaced with a proposal for one flyover. The Khairatabad by-election could also remain a political backdrop, though no formal Cabinet discussion has been confirmed. The Election Commission is yet to announce the schedule, with the final electoral roll expected on November 9.

Beyond approvals, the key test of the meeting will be implementation - whether decisions are followed by government orders, financial sanctions and departmental action.
