TCS, Qualcomm launch edge AI lab in Bengaluru

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) on Wednesday announced a strategic collaboration with Qualcomm to establish a co-innovation lab in Bengaluru aimed at developing smart and scalable enterprise solutions.

The TCS Innovation Lab, equipped with advanced 5G private network infrastructure and high-tech equipment, will focus on building agile Internet of Things (IoT) and Edge AI capabilities for industries requiring real-time, software-driven solutions. Key sectors expected to benefit include healthcare, security and surveillance, smart infrastructure, and manufacturing.

According to TCS, the lab will co-create customised, low-cost solutions on Qualcomm platforms that can be deployed directly on intelligent devices, operating on-site and in real time. This approach aims to help enterprises streamline processes, improve efficiency, and enhance resilience.

The lab has been designed to enable rapid prototyping, testing, and deployment of large-scale Edge AI solutions using a Software Defined Everything (SDx) framework. Proposed applications include medical devices, smart handhelds for controlling industrial processes, safety and surveillance systems, and advanced smart infrastructure solutions.

The initiative marks a significant step in strengthening India’s innovation ecosystem by combining TCS’s global expertise in enterprise transformation with Qualcomm’s technological leadership in connectivity and AI. It is expected to accelerate the adoption of next-generation digital solutions across industries.
