TCS Nashik Harassment Case: Key Accused Nida Khan Sent to Police Custody Till May 11 After 42-Day Hunt
Suspended TCS-linked employee Nida Khan , one of the key accused in the alleged sexual harassment and religious coercion case at Tata Consultancy Services’ Nashik unit, has been arrested from Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar after evading arrest for nearly 42 days. A court has now remanded her to police custody till May 11 for further interrogation.
The arrest was executed through a coordinated operation involving the Nashik Police Special Investigation Team ( SIT ), the Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar Police Commissionerate, and the local crime branch. Police Commissioner Sandeep Karnik confirmed that sustained surveillance and inter-city coordination led to her tracing after weeks of evasion.
Investigators said Khan had gone underground after multiple FIRs were filed in April. According to police inputs, teams deployed plainclothes officers, vehicle rotation tactics, and continuous monitoring before locating her in Sambhajinagar. Officials also confirmed that Khan was arrested after sustained technical surveillance inputs.
During custody, the SIT is expected to confront her with digital and electronic evidence , including WhatsApp group communications, call detail records, and internal workplace data linked to the allegations. Officials said this material is central to establishing patterns of alleged workplace interaction and coercion.
Khan is accused of allegedly pressuring women employees to adopt religious practices, including offering prayers, following dietary restrictions, and altering dressing style and behaviour. Investigators also claim she discouraged complainants from pursuing cases and allegedly attempted to influence at least one victim to convert.
The SIT is probing nine FIRs involving allegations of molestation, workplace exploitation, mental harassment, and hurting religious sentiments at the TCS Nashik BPO unit. Multiple accused employees, including a woman operations manager and others linked to internal compliance mechanisms, have already been arrested.
The case has also triggered political controversy , with an AIMIM councillor and a local political leader exchanging sharp allegations over the interpretation of the case and its handling, adding a political dimension to the ongoing investigation.
Earlier, a Nashik court rejected Khan’s anticipatory bail plea , observing that custodial interrogation was necessary despite her citing pregnancy as grounds for relief.
Meanwhile, TCS has initiated an internal investigation with assistance from Deloitte and law firm Trilegal , expanding its review into workplace reporting systems, POSH compliance, and internal grievance redressal mechanisms at the Nashik facility.
