TCS iON Attributes Jaipur Exam Centre Power Failures to Local Electrical Issues

TCS iON has attributed the disruption of the NEET-PG 2026 and AIIMS Common Recruitment Examination (CRE) at its Jaipur facility to “unknown local electrical issues”, saying vendor teams are working urgently to resolve the problem and prevent a recurrence.

The iON Digital Zone (iDZ) in Sitapura, Jaipur, experienced internal power failures during two major examinations held on consecutive days. The disruption affected the NEET-PG 2026 examination, followed by the AIIMS CRE at the same facility.

According to TCS iON, the NEET-PG examination was otherwise conducted successfully for more than 2.63 lakh candidates across 1,111 centres nationwide, while the AIIMS CRE was held for more than 21,000 candidates at 58 centres.

The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) had earlier announced a re-examination on September 5 at 3 pm in Jaipur for candidates who could not complete their NEET-PG test because of the power disruption at the two affected Sitapura centres.

The incident also prompted NBEMS to call an immediate meeting to consider action against the technological partner and the agency responsible for ensuring adequate infrastructure at examination centres.

Meanwhile, the AIIMS CRE was disrupted at the RJ0101 and RJ0102 centres at the TCS-operated iON Digital Zone, Sitapura. Although the examination began as scheduled at 9 am, the power failure forced AIIMS, Delhi, to cancel the test at both centres to protect the interests of affected candidates and maintain the fairness and integrity of the recruitment process.

Authorities have instructed TCS to submit a detailed report and preserve system logs, CCTV footage and control-room communications for a comprehensive assessment of the incident.

TCS iON expressed regret over the inconvenience caused to candidates and said it was working with the concerned authorities to ensure that affected examinees are given an opportunity to complete their examinations at the earliest.
