A chargesheet filed in the alleged sexual harassment and forcible conversion case involving employees of Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) in Nashik has revealed disturbing details of what investigators describe as a coordinated effort to emotionally influence and manipulate vulnerable women employees.

The chargesheet, submitted before a Nashik court last week, includes statements from one of the complainants, who alleged that she was encouraged to watch videos of Pakistani Islamic preacher Tariq Jamil , controversial preacher Zakir Naik , and Islamic scholar Dr Israr Ahmed as part of an effort to familiarize her with Islamic teachings.

According to the victim, the process began under the pretext of helping her overcome mental stress . She alleged that accused Danish Shaikh repeatedly told her that embracing Islamic practices and prayers would help reduce her anxiety and improve her emotional well-being. Over time, she claimed, she was advised to stop visiting temples, avoid listening to Hindu devotional songs, and instead engage in Islamic religious practices.

The complainant further alleged that Shaikh , who is married, sexually exploited her by promising marriage . She told investigators that he gained access to sensitive personal information, including details of her bank accounts and UPI credentials .

The chargesheet states that the other accused, Tausif Attar and Nida Khan , allegedly played a role in introducing the victim to various aspects of Islamic theology. According to her statement, they encouraged her to watch online religious lectures and explained concepts such as Jannah (heaven) , Jahannum (hell) , Qurbani , and the significance of Zamzam water . The woman claimed she gradually began believing that accepting Islam could help resolve her personal struggles and reduce her stress.

The investigation has also brought AIMIM corporator Matin Patel under scrutiny. The chargesheet alleges that Patel provided shelter to Nida Khan while she was absconding despite being aware that her anticipatory bail plea had been rejected.

The case is part of a wider probe ordered by the Maharashtra government , which constituted a Special Investigation Team (SIT) after multiple women employees raised allegations of sexual exploitation, attempted religious conversion, molestation, and mental harassment. TCS has maintained that it follows a zero-tolerance policy towards harassment and has suspended employees allegedly involved in the matter. The allegations are currently under judicial examination.
