Tata Women’s Premier League 2026 schedule announced: MI to face RCB in opener
The Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2026 is set to kick off with a blockbuster opener on January 9, as Mumbai Indians (MI), the defending champions and winners of the 2025 season, take on Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), who lifted the title in 2024, at the Dr DY Patil Stadium, Navi Mumbai. Fans can expect a high-energy start as two of the league’s most anticipated teams face off in what promises to be a thrilling encounter.
The first leg of the tournament, featuring 11 league matches with all five teams in action, will be played in Navi Mumbai from January 9 to 17, before the action shifts to Vadodara for the second leg, spanning January 19 to February 5 and culminating in the Eliminator on February 3 and the final on February 5. The league stage includes 20 matches overall and follows a mega auction where 67 players were sold out of 277 available, including 23 overseas stars, for a total of ₹40.8 crore.
