Ramtek, a town in Maharashtra, is set to witness a major boost in education and employment opportunities with the establishment of a ₹115 crore Skill Development Centre. The initiative is part of the state government’s efforts to expand skill-based training and empower youth with industry-relevant capabilities.

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the state government and Tata Group, which will play a pivotal role in setting up and managing the centre. The facility will focus on advanced skill training in key sectors such as manufacturing, automotive, information technology, healthcare, and green energy.

The centre aims to provide hands-on training, certifications, and placement support to thousands of students annually, bridging the gap between academic learning and practical industry needs. Officials stated that the project will also prioritize the inclusion of women and rural youth to ensure equitable growth.

Chief Minister Eknath Shinde hailed the partnership as a “landmark step” in preparing the state’s workforce for the future. The Skill Development Centre in Ramtek is expected to become operational within the next two years and serve as a model hub for skill enhancement across the region.
