Tata Capital, LG India’s record IPOs to hit markets soon

The Indian stock market is gearing up for one of its busiest weeks in the primary market as two major companies, Tata Capital Ltd and LG Electronics India Ltd, prepare to launch their initial public offerings (IPOs) worth a combined over Rs 27,000 crore. With their strong brand names and solid track records, these high-profile issues are expected to attract significant investor attention.

Tata Capital’s IPO: Largest of the year Tata Capital Ltd, the non-banking finance arm of the Tata Group, is launching its Rs 15,512 crore IPO from October 6 to October 8, making it the largest IPO in India in 2025. The issue includes a fresh issue of 21 crore shares and an offer for sale (OFS) of 26.58 crore shares. Tata Sons will sell 23 crore shares, while the International Finance Corporation (IFC) will offload 3.58 crore shares.

The company has set a price band of Rs 310 to Rs 326 per share, valuing Tata Capital at around Rs 1.38 lakh crore. Proceeds from the fresh issue will be used to strengthen the company’s Tier-1 capital base, supporting growth and expansion in lending operations.

Tata Capital has shown strong financial performance. For FY25, it reported a profit after tax of Rs 3,655 crore, up from Rs 3,327 crore in FY24, while revenue surged to Rs 28,313 crore from Rs 18,175 crore a year earlier. Currently, Tata Sons owns 88.6% of the company, with IFC holding 1.8%. The shares are expected to list on October 13, generating excitement among investors looking for a reliable growth story.

LG Electronics India: South Korean giant eyes Indian market Following Tata Capital, LG Electronics India Ltd will open its Rs 11,607 crore IPO from October 7 to October 9. This will be the third-largest IPO of 2025 and the second South Korean firm to enter the Indian market after Hyundai Motors India last year.

LG Electronics India’s IPO is entirely an offer for sale of 10.18 crore shares, representing a 15% stake. The proceeds from this sale will go entirely to the South Korean parent, meaning the Indian unit itself will not receive any funds. The price band is Rs 1,080 to Rs 1,140 per share, valuing the company at roughly Rs 77,400 crore.

The company manufactures a wide range of consumer electronics and home appliances, including refrigerators, washing machines, LED TVs, air conditioners, and microwaves, at its Noida and Pune plants. LG India posted FY25 revenue of Rs 24,366.64 crore, up from Rs 21,352 crore, with a net profit of Rs 2,203 crore, compared to Rs 1,511 crore in the previous year. Shares are expected to list on October 14, with investors anticipating strong listing gains.

Other IPOs on the horizon Apart from these two mega offerings, Rubicon Research will open a Rs 1,377.5 crore IPO on October 9, and WeWork India Management is running a Rs 3,000 crore public offering.

With these major listings, the Indian IPO market continues its robust momentum despite broader market volatility. Investors are keeping a close watch, as these high-profile issues promise both excitement and opportunity in the coming week.
