Tamil Nadu CM Vijay Appoints Ku Pa Krishnan as TN Urban Habitat Development Board Chairman
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay on Friday appointed Ku Pa Krishnan as the chairman of the Tamil Nadu Urban Habitat Development Board (TNUHDB), in a move aimed at accelerating the implementation of urban housing and welfare initiatives across the state.
According to an official release, the appointment is expected to strengthen the execution and monitoring of several housing, rehabilitation, and resettlement schemes undertaken by the board for economically weaker and underprivileged sections living in urban areas.
Ku Pa Krishnan , regarded as a senior political functionary with organisational experience, will now oversee the functioning of the TNUHDB, a key state agency responsible for improving urban living conditions and expanding affordable housing infrastructure in Tamil Nadu.
Originally established to develop and upgrade housing infrastructure for vulnerable communities, the TNUHDB plays a major role in constructing tenements, implementing slum redevelopment projects, and carrying out rehabilitation and resettlement programmes in cities and towns across the state.
The appointment comes as the Tamil Nadu government pushes for faster delivery of welfare-focused urban development projects amid growing demands for affordable housing and improved civic infrastructure in rapidly expanding urban centres.
