Tamil Nadu CM C. Joseph Vijay to Make First Official Visit to Delhi on May 27
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay is set to undertake his first official visit to the national capital on May 27 , marking a key political engagement shortly after assuming office.
According to official sources, the Chief Minister will meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi and several Union Ministers during his Delhi tour. The visit comes just weeks after Vijay, who leads the newly formed Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam , took oath as Chief Minister on May 10 , following the party’s victory in the April 23 Assembly elections.
Senior officials from the Tamil Nadu government are already stationed in Delhi ahead of the meetings to coordinate discussions and prepare a detailed list of proposals.
During the engagements, the Chief Minister is expected to seek additional central funds for Tamil Nadu and push for the approval of several major infrastructure and development projects for the state. The discussions are likely to focus on strengthening Centre-State financial cooperation and accelerating ongoing welfare and development schemes.
Officials clarified that the Chief Minister is scheduled to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Ministers, and there are no scheduled meetings with opposition leaders such as Sonia Gandhi or Rahul Gandhi during this visit.
The Delhi trip is being seen as an important early step in Vijay’s outreach to the Centre as his government begins its tenure in Tamil Nadu.
