India’s T20I stars continue to shine on the global stage, as the latest ICC rankings reveal a thrilling shake-up. Swashbuckling Ishan Kishan’s sensational T20 World Cup performance propelled him to a career-high second place , trailing fellow Indian Abhishek Sharma by just four points.

Abhishek, who starred with a quick-fire half-century in India’s win against New Zealand in the World Cup final, retained his top spot in T20I batting , while Kishan, with a remarkable 317 runs in the tournament, closed in as his closest rival. Kishan now has 871 points , just shy of Abhishek’s 875 , highlighting India’s growing dominance in the format. New Zealand’s Tim Seifert and England’s Jacob Bethell also reached career-best rankings, landing sixth and 16th, respectively.

The bowling chart saw a change at the summit. India’s mystery spinner Varun Chakravarthy , whose tricks were decoded by batsmen during the tournament, slipped to second, giving way to Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan , who reclaimed the No.1 position despite Afghanistan’s early exit. Varun’s 740 points now trail Rashid’s 753, while England’s Adil Rashid, India’s Jasprit Bumrah, and Axar Patel also gained ground with strong World Cup outings.

In the all-rounders’ rankings, Zimbabwe captain Sikandar Raza and India’s Hardik Pandya continue their tussle for supremacy, achieving career-high ratings while holding the top two spots. Meanwhile, Shivam Dube dropped to 11th from ninth, showing how fiercely competitive the T20 format remains.

The latest ICC rankings underscore India’s growing strength in T20 cricket, with emerging talents like Kishan joining Abhishek at the pinnacle, and seasoned stars holding their ground, keeping fans eagerly watching every match.
