Sydney Sweeney has firmly dismissed longstanding rumours about undergoing plastic surgery, calling out the constant scrutiny surrounding her appearance. In a recent conversation, the Euphoria star made it clear that she has never had any cosmetic procedures, addressing years of speculation that frequently resurfaces online.

When asked to debunk a persistent “beauty rumour,” Sweeney responded that she wanted to clear all of them at once. She explained that she has never undergone any kind of cosmetic work because she is terrified of needles, a fear she says is far greater than people realise. Her comments were in response to social media users who often compare photos of her childhood with professionally styled pictures from her twenties. She pointed out that comparing a 12-year-old’s image to that of a 26-year-old actor under professional lighting and makeup is both unfair and unrealistic, adding that the reactions online can often feel unhinged.

Sweeney previously spoke about this during an October interview with Variety, reaffirming that she has no desire to alter her appearance. She reiterated that she has never had anything done, does not have tattoos, and simply wants to grow older naturally without medical enhancements or aesthetic interventions.

On the professional front, Sweeney is gearing up for her next major project, the psychological thriller The Housemaid . The film is based on Freida McFadden’s 2022 bestselling novel and stars Sweeney alongside Amanda Seyfried. Directed by Paul Feig, the story follows a housemaid whose new job inside a wealthy household exposes her to secrets far more dangerous than she anticipated. The narrative centres on Sweeney’s character Millie, who begins working for Nina and Andrew, played by Seyfried and Brandon Sklenar, only to discover that the couple is hiding unsettling truths that eclipse even her own troubled past. The theatrical release is scheduled for December 19, 2025.

This development arrives shortly after Sweeney’s boxing biopic Christy missed out on Golden Globe nominations, adding further attention to her ongoing journey through Hollywood’s highs and hurdles.
