Surprise Check: Minister Atchannaidu Inspects Kotabommali Hospital

Andhra Pradesh Minister Kinjarapu Atchannaidu carried out a surprise inspection of the Kotabommali Government Social Hospital in Srikakulam district on Friday. He toured multiple wards, assessing the quality of treatment and services being provided to patients . The minister also inspected medicine storage facilities, checked medical equipment, and examined stock registers.

During his visit, he interacted with patients to gather firsthand feedback on food quality, availability of medicines, and medical supervision. Stressing that delivering quality healthcare to the poor is the government’s top priority, he warned that any form of negligence would not be tolerated. He instructed doctors and hospital staff to remain accessible at all times and to treat patients with empathy. He further advised medical teams to raise awareness among pregnant women and promote normal deliveries in government hospitals.

The minister also reviewed the progress of a new hospital building being constructed at a cost of ₹2.10 crore. Expressing concern over delays, he directed the contractor to speed up the work and asked officials to ensure timely completion so the facility can be opened to the public soon. He assured that funds would not be a constraint but insisted that quality standards must be maintained.

Speaking to the media later, Atchannaidu said the coalition government is committed to achieving a “Healthy, Wealthy, Happy Andhra Pradesh.” Under the leadership of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, he said, public health remains a key focus, with efforts aimed at building a healthier society. He reiterated that government hospitals across the state will be strengthened to deliver corporate-level healthcare services to the poor.
