Suriya is looking to complete a hat-trick of releases in 2026 with Scene, his upcoming collaboration with Aavesham director Jithu Madhavan. The film is scheduled to arrive in theatres worldwide on November 6, 2026, during the Diwali weekend. However, with just a month left for release, fans are increasingly wondering when the film’s promotional campaign will begin.

Previously known as Suriya 47, Scene was officially titled through a title teaser released in September. The glimpse introduced Suriya as DSP Inbaraj, an unconventional and rebellious police officer who appears to have little interest in following conventional rules. The teaser also hinted at a mix of action, comedy and Jithu Madhavan’s distinctive style.

Despite the teaser generating interest, the makers have not yet followed it up with songs or a major promotional campaign. This has become a talking point among fans, especially because the film has only a limited window to build theatrical buzz before its November 6 release.

The project is significant for several reasons. It marks Jithu Madhavan’s Tamil directorial debut after Romancham and Aavesham. It also marks Sushin Shyam’s Tamil debut as a composer. The film went on floors in December 2025 and completed filming in July 2026, meaning it is now in the post-production stage.

Scene also brings together a strong Tamil-Malayalam combination. Nazriya Nazim plays the female lead, while Naslen has a prominent role. Anandraj, Lal, John Vijay and Raj Priyan are also part of the cast. For Nazriya, the film marks her return to Tamil cinema after Thirumanam Enum Nikkah in 2014, while it is also Naslen’s first Tamil project.

The film has already secured important deals ahead of release. Netflix has acquired its streaming rights, while Sony Music has bagged the music rights. In Kerala, the film has also reportedly secured a major distribution deal through Gokulam Movies, reflecting the strong expectations surrounding the Suriya-Jithu Madhavan combination in the state.

Adding further interest to the release is its Diwali box-office clash with Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana, starring Ranbir Kapoor and Yash. The two films are scheduled to reach theatres on the same date, setting up one of the notable clashes of the festive season.

With filming already complete and the release date locked, the next major question is when the Scene team will begin its full promotional push. If the makers are sticking to the November 6 date, the coming weeks could see the arrival of songs, trailers and promotional events as they attempt to turn curiosity around Suriya’s unusual cop character into strong Diwali anticipation.
