Google and its parent company, Alphabet, have reported their first-ever USD 100 billion quarter, marking a major financial milestone for the technology giant. The achievement, announced by CEO Sundar Pichai in a post on X, reflects the company’s broad-based growth across all major business segments, driven largely by advancements in artificial intelligence (AI).

Pichai stated, “We delivered our first-ever $100B quarter driven by double-digit growth across every major part of our business. Five years ago, our quarterly revenue was at $50B.” He described the results as a reflection of Google’s rapid scaling of its core products Search, YouTube, and Cloud supported by its growing AI capabilities.

Highlighting Google’s “full-stack approach to AI,” Pichai said the company’s advanced models Gemini 2.5 Pro, Veo, Genie 3, and Nano are driving innovation across platforms. More than 13 million developers have built with Google’s generative AI models so far, and the company plans to launch Gemini 3 later this year.

In Search, Pichai called it “an expansionary moment,” noting year-on-year growth in both overall and commercial queries. He said Google’s new features AI Overviews and AI Mode were rolled out rapidly, with AI Mode now available in 40 languages and attracting 75 million daily users. In the United States, AI Mode queries doubled during the third quarter.

Google Cloud also recorded accelerating growth, driven by AI-related revenue. New customers increased by about 34 per cent year-on-year, and more than 70 per cent of existing customers now use Google’s AI products. Thirteen Cloud product lines have achieved an annual run rate exceeding USD 1 billion.

On YouTube, Pichai reported that the platform has remained the No. 1 in streaming watch time in the US for over two years. He added that YouTube Shorts now earns more revenue per watch hour than traditional in-stream videos.

Pichai also mentioned that Alphabet’s self-driving unit, Waymo, is preparing to expand its operations to London and several US cities, including Dallas, Nashville, Denver, and Seattle. He expressed appreciation to employees and partners worldwide for their contributions.

Responding to Pichai’s post, Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla and X, commented, “Nice work!”
