Jailed conman Sukesh Chandrasekhar has moved an application before Additional Sessions Judge Prashant Sharma at Patiala House Courts, offering ₹217 crore to the complainant , Aditi Singh, in connection with the ₹200-crore extortion case . The application, filed through his counsel Anant Malik, clarifies that the offer is made “without prejudice”, meaning it does not constitute an admission of guilt and preserves Chandrasekhar’s legal rights. The matter is scheduled for consideration on January 3, 2026 .

Chandrasekhar’s plea seeks permission for the parties to explore a settlement arising from the FIR registered by the Special Cell, Lodhi Colony, New Delhi . He has urged the court to issue notice to the complainant and to record that the settlement proposal is bona fide and subject to her consent.

Chandrasekhar, a well-known conman involved in multiple high-profile financial crimes , is currently in judicial custody . Delhi Police have alleged that he duped the wives of former Ranbaxy promoters Shivinder Singh and Malvinder Singh of ₹200 crore. His associate, A Paulose, was also arrested in connection with the case.

Investigations reveal that Chandrasekhar and his associates allegedly used hawala networks and a chain of shell companies to park, layer, and launder the extorted funds, making the flow of money difficult to trace. The police have invoked the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) in the case, and proceedings are ongoing under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), with the Enforcement Directorate (ED) also investigating.

The court’s role in reviewing the settlement will include ensuring voluntary consent of the complainant, verifying legal compliance, and confirming the bona fide nature of the offer, while safeguarding public interest and the rights of both parties. Despite the offer, the court has yet to pass orders on the settlement application, and all proceedings are subject to judicial discretion.
