Sujeeth Admits ‘OG’ Writing Issues, Promises More Care For Pawan Kalyan’s ‘OG 2’

Powerstar Pawan Kalyan’s ‘OG’ remains an emotion for his fans, who finally got to see the actor in the stylish gangster avatar they had been waiting for. While the film delivered plenty of fan-pleasing moments through Pawan’s screen presence, action and visual treatment, its writing and storytelling drew criticism from sections of the audience.

As ‘OG’ completes one year, director Sujeeth has now addressed the feedback surrounding the film. Taking to X, he looked back at the release-day euphoria and thanked the actors, producers, technicians and audiences. More importantly, he said he is focusing more on writing, taking audience feedback into account and giving his stories the time and care they deserve. Recent reports say Sujeeth also acknowledged logical issues in the first film and intends to address such shortcomings in the sequel.

The timing of his statement is significant as ‘OG 2’ is already under development. Pawan Kalyan Creative Works announced in June that Sujeeth would return as writer-director, with Thaman also returning as music composer. The sequel is being developed as part of the wider ‘OG’ universe, which has been linked with Sujeeth’s ‘Saaho’.

The makers further raised expectations in September by unveiling an animated glimpse of ‘OG Part 2’ on Pawan Kalyan’s birthday. The video introduced a Samurai-themed version of Pawan’s character, suggesting that the sequel could expand the world established in the first film. Reports also said Pawan wants to deliver his “lifetime best” in the next chapter.

The first ‘OG’ had gone through production interruptions, with Pawan’s political commitments affecting his availability. Reports now suggest that the sequel could benefit from a more focused schedule, although details remain subject to official confirmation.

Meanwhile, Sujeeth is also working on his reported project with Nani, tentatively titled ‘Bloody Romeo’, before moving deeper into ‘OG 2’. With the sequel already taking shape, his renewed emphasis on writing has given fans another reason to watch closely.
