
Stray Dog Attack Claims Four Month Old Infant in Karnataka’s Bidar
A heartbreaking incident from Karnataka’s Bidar district has left an entire village in shock after a four month old infant lost life in a stray dog attack inside the family’s home on Saturday morning.
The tragic incident took place in Dabalgundi village of Humnabad taluk , where the baby was reportedly asleep in a cradle while the parents had briefly stepped outside the house. According to police, the door had been left unlocked during that time.
In those few unattended moments, a stray dog allegedly entered the house and attacked the infant. Officials said the dog bit the baby on multiple parts of the body, causing severe injuries .
The child’s cries reportedly alerted the parents, who rushed back inside in panic. What they witnessed was devastating. The infant was found critically injured and lying in a pool of blood inside the house.
Family members immediately shifted the baby to a nearby hospital, but doctors declared the child dead on arrival .
The incident has triggered grief and fear across the village, with residents expressing concern over the increasing stray dog menace in rural areas. Locals said stray dogs are frequently seen roaming through residential streets, especially during early mornings and late evenings.
Police officials confirmed that a formal case is yet to be registered and that further action will be taken after receiving the medical examination report . An investigation into the incident is currently underway.
