In a historic first for Netflix, the much-awaited two-hour finale of Stranger Things will hit the big screen, marking the beloved show’s theatrical debut. The climactic episode, titled “The Rightside Up,” will be screened in over 350 theatres worldwide on December 31, alongside its Netflix release, according to Variety .

Created by Matt and Ross Duffer better known as The Duffer Brothers the fifth and final season of the cult-favourite sci-fi series will comprise eight episodes, divided into three parts. The first two volumes will begin streaming on November 26 and December 25, leading up to the grand finale on New Year’s Eve.

Set in the 1980s, Stranger Things takes audiences to the eerie small town of Hawkins, Indiana, where a group of kids encounters terrifying supernatural forces after a young girl with psychokinetic powers opens a portal to an alternate dimension known as the Upside Down. The series stars Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Finn Wolfhard, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Natalia Dyer, and Millie Bobby Brown as Eleven, whose journey from lab experiment to hero has defined the show’s emotional core.

Since its debut in 2016, Stranger Things has become a global pop-culture phenomenon, blending nostalgia, horror, and heartfelt friendship in a way that redefined Netflix’s original programming success. The upcoming finale is expected to bring the Hawkins saga to a spectacular and emotional close both on streaming and in cinemas.
