Statewide united meeting of political parties and student associations planned over fee delays

Former Minister V. Srinivas Goud on Saturday addressed a press conference at the Somajiguda Press Club, unveiling the poster for a statewide united meeting of political parties and student associations scheduled for November 15.

Speaking at the event, Goud highlighted that delayed fee reimbursements are severely affecting students’ futures. He urged the government to immediately release at least 50% of pending dues and warned against using committees as a means of procrastination. He also demanded that payments to contractors be paused until funds are first allocated directly to colleges.

Goud criticized the government for pressuring colleges while neglecting student welfare, calling it contrary to democratic principles. He pointed out that thousands of students are facing hardships due to administrative inaction.

In response, student leaders from Osmania, Kakatiya, Telangana, Palamuru, Mahatma Gandhi, and Satavahana Universities have come together on a single platform, preparing for a joint protest to assert student rights. Goud stressed that the unified meeting will mark the beginning of collective action, warning that failure by the government to address concerns could escalate into statewide protests.
