The coalition government has honoured state-born women’s cricketer Sricharani for her outstanding performance in the Women’s One Day World Cup by presenting her with a cash reward of ₹2.5 crore. The cheque was handed over at the Undavalli residence.

In addition to the cash incentive, the government announced the allotment of a 1,000-square-yard house site in Kadapa city and the conferment of a Group-1 status government job as a mark of recognition for her achievements.

Transport and Youth Services Minister Mandipalli Ramprasad Reddy and Sports Authority of Andhra Pradesh (SAAP) Chairman Animini Ravinayudu were present at the event.

The government stated that these rewards reflect its commitment to encouraging sporting excellence. Sricharani’s impressive performance on the world stage has brought pride to the state, and the incentives are aimed at motivating young athletes, especially women, to pursue sports at the highest level.
