State Gears Up for Landmark Telangana Formation Day Celebrations in Secunderabad
The Telangana government has put in place extensive arrangements for the official Telangana Formation Day celebrations at the Parade Grounds in Secunderabad , with thousands of guests expected to attend the high-profile event.
Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy will lead the celebrations and hoist the national flag at the venue, marking another year since the formation of Telangana as a separate state. The event is expected to draw nearly 6,000 dignitaries , including freedom fighters, senior bureaucrats, elected representatives, and prominent personalities from various sectors.
Given the scale and significance of the programme, the police have rolled out a comprehensive security plan aimed at ensuring a smooth and incident-free celebration.
A total of 1,140 police personnel have been deployed for the event, making it one of the largest security operations undertaken for a state function this year. The deployment includes senior officers from multiple ranks, with Deputy Commissioners of Police, Additional DCPs, ACPs, Inspectors, and Sub-Inspectors overseeing different aspects of security and crowd management.
Police officials said multiple security layers have been established within and around the Parade Grounds to regulate movement and maintain order throughout the proceedings. Teams of constables, home guards, and other field personnel will remain stationed at strategic locations to monitor the venue and respond to any emergencies.
Authorities have also issued detailed guidelines for attendees. Guests have been advised to reach the venue before 7:30 a.m. and carry their official invitation passes. To streamline entry and avoid congestion, 12 designated gates have been assigned, with access permitted only through the gate specified on each pass.
Security surveillance has been significantly strengthened with the installation of 55 high-definition CCTV cameras , all linked to a dedicated control room for real-time monitoring. Police will keep a close watch on activities in and around the venue throughout the event.
As an added precaution, restrictions have been imposed on the operation of drones, paragliders, and other light aerial devices in sensitive zones surrounding the celebrations. Entry of weapons, sharp objects, laser equipment, and inflammable materials has also been prohibited.
Meanwhile, commuters have been advised to plan their travel in advance, as traffic diversions and restrictions will remain in force between 7 a.m. and 12 noon across key stretches of Begumpet, Secunderabad, Tirumalagiri, Bowenpally, and Tank Bund . Traffic police have urged motorists to use alternate routes and cooperate with authorities to ensure smooth movement during the celebrations.
With elaborate preparations, heightened security, and extensive monitoring in place, the state administration is aiming to ensure that Telangana's official Formation Day celebrations are conducted safely and seamlessly.
