Stalin launches 'Anbukkarangal' to support students

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M. K. Stalin recently spoke about the true purpose of politics. He said politics is not just about seeking power, but about serving the people and standing up for the common man. Unlike some who chase authority for their own gain, he said, the DMK government focuses on helping people through meaningful welfare programs.

One such initiative is the Anbukkarangal scheme, which Stalin launched on the birth anniversary of former Chief Minister C. N. Annadurai, a respected leader of the Dravidian movement. This scheme is designed to support children who have lost both parents or one parent, helping them continue their education without interruption. Under this program, each child receives Rs 2,000 per month until they turn 18, and the government also provides support for higher education.

Stalin emphasized that his government works hard every day to understand the problems of the people and find real solutions. “Our basic desire is to serve the people and champion the cause of the common man,” he said. He added that politics is a demanding responsibility, not a path to luxury. Leaders like Periyar E. V. Ramasamy, C. N. Annadurai, and M. Karunanidhi trained them to work hard for the public, and this dedication guides their governance.

He also criticized those who see politics as a way to gain power. Some leaders, he said, focus on attractive schemes only to win elections, forgetting their duties toward the people. In contrast, the DMK government aims to create programs that truly make a difference.

The Anbukkarangal scheme, part of the Thayumanavar program, will provide assistance to 6,082 children every month. “From now on, you don’t have to worry. I am here. I will take care of you safely,” Stalin assured the children, highlighting the government’s commitment to their well-being.
