SSC Releases Tentative Exam Calendar 2026–27: CGL, CHSL, MTS, JE Dates Out

The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has released its Tentative Calendar of Examinations for 2026–2027 , bringing much-needed clarity to lakhs of aspirants preparing for Central Government recruitment exams. The calendar outlines the expected notification dates, last dates for submission of applications, and tentative exam months for major SSC examinations, helping candidates plan their preparation well in advance. Most of the exams listed will be conducted in Computer Based Examination (CBE) mode, and the recruitment cycle is expected to stretch from May 2026 to March 2027 , making it an important planning tool for students aiming to appear for multiple SSC exams in the same year.

As per the schedule, SSC will kickstart the 2026 recruitment season with multiple Limited Departmental Competitive Examinations (LDCE) meant for the Department of Posts (DoPT). These include JSA/LDC Grade LDCE 2025 , SSA/UDC Grade LDCE 2025 , and ASO Grade LDCE 2025 . One of the biggest highlights of the calendar is the SSC Combined Graduate Level (CGL) Examination 2026 , which remains the most sought-after recruitment for graduate-level posts across various ministries and departments. According to the tentative plan, CGL 2026 will be advertised in March 2026 , applications will close in April 2026 , and the Tier-I exam is likely to be conducted during May–June 2026 . In the same window, SSC has also scheduled the Junior Engineer (JE) Examination 2026 for Civil, Mechanical and Electrical streams.
