SRK wins first national award for Best Actor for ‘Jawan’

After 33 years of captivating audiences, Shah Rukh Khan has finally won his first National Film Award for Best Actor at the 71st National Film Awards for his performance in the blockbuster Jawan . This milestone is being celebrated as a historic moment in Indian cinema, honoring the enduring legacy of one of Bollywood’s biggest superstars.

Khan shares the Best Actor honor with Vikrant Massey, who received the award for 12th Fail . The ceremony, held at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi, saw Khan make a memorable appearance in a classic black bandhgala, beaming with his signature charm. In his acceptance speech, he expressed immense pride and joy, saying, “I feel like the King of the Nation,” reflecting both his personal triumph and the award’s national significance.

Released in 2023, Jawan saw Shah Rukh Khan deliver a power-packed performance by portraying multiple diverse characters, reflecting his unmatched versatility. As per government norms, Khan will receive a cash prize of ₹1 lakh, emphasizing that the National Film Awards primarily recognize artistic excellence rather than financial reward.
