Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan paid tribute to victims of major terror attacks and saluted the nation’s security forces at the 2025 Global Peace Honours, urging citizens to rise above divisions and uphold peace. The actor emphasised that India’s strength has always stemmed from unity and resilience.

At the event, tribute was paid by Khan to those who lost their lives in the 26/11 Mumbai attacks, the Pahalgam terror attack earlier this year, and the recent blast near Delhi’s Red Fort. Respect was also extended to security personnel who were martyred in these incidents.

The families of the martyrs were honoured as well. The courage of mothers, fathers and partners of the fallen soldiers was acknowledged by the actor, who noted that while the soldiers fought on the battlefield, their families also endured the battle with immense bravery.

It was stressed by Khan that India has never bowed down in the face of adversity, with the country’s unity being described as its greatest strength. Peace and security, he said, have been ensured as long as the nation’s “superheroes in uniform” continue to stand firm.

Peace was described as a “beautiful” ideal that fosters better ideas, innovation and global progress. A call was made by the actor for people to move together towards peace, rise above caste and creed, and uphold humanity so that the sacrifices of soldiers do not go in vain. According to him, if peace prevails among citizens, nothing can shake or defeat India.

Lines dedicated to the nation’s soldiers were also recited by Khan. In these, it was urged that soldiers take pride in protecting the country, recognise the blessings of its 1.4 billion people as their greatest reward, and remind others that fear is felt not by them but by those who attack the nation.
