
Srisailam Comes Alive as Maha Shivaratri Celebrations Begin Today
The temple administration of the Srisailam Mahakshetram has officially invited Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu to attend the Maha Shivaratri Brahmotsavams , scheduled to be held with grandeur from February 8 to 18.
On Saturday, a delegation comprising Srisailam MLA Budda Rajasekhar Reddy , Temple Trust Board Chairman Ramesh Naidu , board members and senior officials of the Devasthanam met the Chief Minister at his camp office in Amaravati and extended the invitation. On the occasion, Vedic scholars offered blessings to the Chief Minister with the chanting of sacred hymns and presented him with a portrait of Lord Mallikarjuna along with theertha and prasadam . The delegation requested the Chief Minister to participate in the special rituals conducted during the Brahmotsavams and seek the blessings of Lord Mallikarjuna .
The MLA and temple board members briefed the Chief Minister on the extensive arrangements being made at the shrine in view of the Brahmotsavams. They informed him that a large influx of devotees is expected during Maha Shivaratri and that special measures are being taken to ensure smooth darshan, accommodation, drinking water supply, sanitation and medical services. The delegation also invited the Chief Minister to attend the Brahmotsavams at the Mahanandi Temple .
Responding to the invitation, Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu directed officials to ensure that all necessary facilities are provided to devotees arriving in large numbers, without any inconvenience. He instructed the authorities to pay special attention to security arrangements and traffic regulation, and to ensure coordination among all departments to conduct the festival smoothly. Emphasising crowd management, the Chief Minister asked officials to ensure flawless queue management, keeping the heavy pilgrim turnout in mind.
