Tom Holland’s 'Spider-Man: Brand New Day' has entered an elite box-office club, crossing the USD 2 billion mark worldwide within just three weekends of its theatrical release. The Marvel-Sony blockbuster has also continued its record-breaking run in India, where its collections have now moved well beyond the ₹500-crore mark.

The film has earned approximately USD 785.8 million in North America and USD 1.24 billion from international markets, taking its worldwide total to around USD 2.022 billion. With the achievement, the film has become only the eighth movie in history to cross $2 billion globally.

'Brand New Day' has also become the second-fastest film ever to reach the $2-billion milestone, behind only 'Avengers: Endgame', which achieved the feat in 11 days. It has now surpassed the lifetime global earnings of 2021's 'Spider-Man: No Way Home', which finished its theatrical run at around $1.92 billion. The new film has additionally emerged as Sony Pictures' highest-grossing movie ever.

The film's third weekend added another $188.7 million worldwide, including $70 million in North America, where it remained at No. 1 for a third consecutive weekend. Its domestic total has reached approximately $785.8 million.

In India, the film has proved equally formidable. While the original ANI report cited a ₹471.68-crore India net collection, newer trade reports indicate that its overall India gross has crossed ₹550 crore by Day 18, following a ₹22.80-crore third-weekend haul.

The film has maintained its momentum despite competition from 'Awarapan 2' and 'Batwara 1947'. It had already crossed ₹500 crore in India during its second week, while its opening day of ₹61 crore made it the biggest Hollywood opener ever in the country, surpassing 'Avengers: Endgame'.

Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, 'Brand New Day' stars Tom Holland, Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, Sadie Sink and Jon Bernthal. The film marks Holland's fourth solo MCU outing as Peter Parker and has further strengthened Spider-Man's position as one of cinema's most commercially powerful franchises.

With its worldwide tally still climbing, 'Spider-Man: Brand New Day' is now targeting an even higher position among the biggest films in global box-office history.
