‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ will remain in theatres through November 16, extending its theatrical run amid the film’s strong box-office performance.

The extension gives the latest Tom Holland-led Spider-Man film one of Sony Pictures’ longest theatrical windows since ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’, reflecting continued audience demand for the superhero movie.

Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, ‘Brand New Day’ stars Holland as Peter Parker/Spider-Man and continues the story following the events of ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’. The film also features Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, Sadie Sink, Jon Bernthal and Mark Ruffalo in key roles.

The movie has enjoyed a major global box-office run since its release, with its sustained performance allowing it to remain in cinemas well beyond the typical theatrical window for a major Hollywood release.

The extended run is also expected to affect the film’s digital and streaming rollout, as Sony generally moves movies to home entertainment platforms after their theatrical engagement. However, an official date for its digital or streaming release has not been announced.

‘Brand New Day’ follows Peter Parker as he navigates life after the events of ‘No Way Home’, in which a spell cast by Doctor Strange erased the world's memory of Peter’s identity. The new film explores his life as a more isolated Spider-Man while introducing new threats and characters.

The movie marks Holland’s fourth solo Spider-Man outing and reunites him with several characters from the previous films while expanding the franchise with new additions.

The November 16 extension is particularly significant for Sony as the studio continues to capitalise on the film’s theatrical momentum. With the movie retaining a presence in cinemas for several additional weeks, audiences will have more time to watch the latest chapter of Holland’s Spider-Man story on the big screen.
