SpiceJet has announced the launch of daily non-stop flights to Phuket, Thailand’s largest and most popular island, from Delhi and Mumbai, marking its second destination in Thailand after Bangkok. Flights from Delhi to Phuket are scheduled to commence on October 31, 2025, while services from Mumbai will begin on November 6, 2025.

Debojo Maharshi, Chief Business Officer of SpiceJet, said, “We are excited to add Phuket, one of the world’s most sought-after holiday destinations, to our growing international network. With non-stop flights from Delhi and Mumbai, SpiceJet is making it easier than ever for Indian travellers to enjoy Thailand’s pristine beaches, vibrant culture, and warm hospitality. This expansion also reaffirms our commitment to offering more international choices and seamless connectivity at affordable fares.”

Passengers can book tickets for the new routes through SpiceJet’s official website or mobile app and avail themselves of competitive fares and enhanced services, including the spacious SpiceMax economy-class seating.

Phuket is celebrated for its beaches, nightlife, and cultural landmarks such as the Big Buddha statue and the Sino-Portuguese architecture of Old Phuket Town. The island also serves as a gateway to nearby destinations, including the Phi Phi Islands.

SpiceJet has also announced the induction of a wide-body Airbus A340 aircraft into its fleet by the end of September 2025. The aircraft is expected to arrive in India later this month and begin operations in the first week of October, subject to regulatory approvals. Initially, it will operate on a wet lease model before transitioning to a damp lease, providing greater operational flexibility and cost efficiency.

Other Indian carriers have also established direct connectivity to Phuket. Akasa Air launched daily flights from Mumbai to Phuket on September 20, 2025, and from Bengaluru on October 1, 2025. Air India commenced non-stop flights from Delhi to Phuket on December 15, 2023, and later expanded to daily operations from January 8, 2024. IndiGo introduced direct services from Delhi to Phuket starting June 1, 2024, and subsequently increased frequency to daily flights. Air India Express operates direct flights from Hyderabad to Phuket, beginning January 31, 2025, initially three times a week.

SpiceJet is one of India’s largest low-cost carriers, operating a fleet of Boeing 737s and Q-400 aircraft. The airline is IATA-IOSA certified and is a key participant in India’s UDAN regional connectivity scheme, providing multiple daily flights across the country in addition to its expanding international operations.
