SP Balasubrahmanyam Statue Unveiled at Ravindra Bharati

A statue of legendary singer and Padma Vibhushan awardee S. P. Balasubrahmanyam was ceremoniously unveiled at the Ravindra Bharati premises in Hyderabad by former Vice President M. Venkaiah Naidu. The event was held in an emotional atmosphere in the presence of music lovers, film personalities, and fans.

Speaking on the occasion, Venkaiah Naidu described S. P. Balasubrahmanyam as an eternal icon of Indian music. He said SPB earned a special place in the hearts of millions across languages through his soulful singing. He noted that songs sung by SPB not only in Telugu but also in Tamil, Kannada, Hindi, and several other languages would continue to captivate listeners for generations.

Venkaiah Naidu remarked that Balasubrahmanyam was not merely a musical maestro but also a cultured, humble, and down-to-earth individual. He said the nine rasas came alive in SPB’s voice and highlighted his multifaceted talent as a playback singer, dubbing artist, actor, and mentor.

Recalling SPB’s journey, Venkaiah Naidu said that rising from a modest family background to achieving international recognition through extraordinary talent made him an inspiration for the youth. He praised SPB for transforming music not just into a pursuit, but into a disciplined and meaningful lifelong achievement.

Organisers said the unveiling of the statue has added artistic grandeur to the Ravindra Bharati premises and will serve as a lasting reminder of S. P. Balasubrahmanyam’s rich musical legacy for future generations.

Former Vice President M. Venkaiah Naidu, former Haryana Governor Bandaru Dattatreya, Minister Sridhar Babu, BJP Telangana president Ramchander Rao, and several other dignitaries attended the event.
