Soori’s ‘Mandaadi’ Trailer Released, Netflix Secures OTT Streaming Rights

‘Mandaadi’, the upcoming Tamil sports action drama starring Soori, is gearing up for its theatrical release on September 10, 2026. Directed by Mathimaran Pugazhendi, the film revolves around traditional boat racing, intense rivalry and family emotions.

The makers recently unveiled the much awaited trailer, offering a closer look at the film’s high stakes world. Soori plays Muthukaali, a former champion boat racer who has left his village and the sport for reasons that remain unclear. His return changes the dynamics as he takes charge of a new team and prepares them for a major boat racing competition.

The trailer also introduces Telugu actor Suhas in his Tamil debut as Sattai Puli, setting up a fierce clash between the two rival factions. The story follows the battle between competing clans, with the rivalry extending beyond the racing arena into their families and village. Mahima Nambiar and Sathyaraj are also part of the principal cast, along with Mithun Jai Sankar, Ravindra Vijay, Bala Saravanan and Stun Siva.

The film has been mounted on an extensive scale, with several sequences shot at sea. Suhas previously revealed that the climax was filmed in the sea for nearly 45 days, highlighting the demanding nature of the production.

‘Mandaadi’ is produced by Elred Kumar under the RS Infotainment banner, with filmmaker Vetrimaaran serving as creative producer. GV Prakash Kumar has composed the music, while SR Kathir handles cinematography and Pradeep E Ragav is the editor. Action choreography is handled by Peter Hein, Dilip Subbarayan and Mahesh Mathew.

Adding to the film’s post theatrical prospects, Netflix has acquired its OTT streaming rights. The film is set to reach theatres on September 10 before its digital premiere on Netflix. ‘Mandaadi’ will also mark Suhas’ entry into Tamil cinema, making it one of the notable South Indian releases to watch this week.
