Skywalk to Boost Pedestrian Safety from Raidurgam Metro to T-Hub

In a major move to improve pedestrian safety, walkability, and ease traffic congestion in Cyberabad , one of Hyderabad’s busiest IT corridors, the Telangana government has approved the construction of a skywalk along the Raidurgam–T-Hub stretch.

Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy , who also holds charge of the Municipal Administration and Urban Development Department , has given the green signal for the project, recognising the growing challenges faced by pedestrians in the high-traffic zone.

On Monday, the proposed project alignment was inspected on the ground by Cyberabad Police Commissioner M. Ramesh , along with senior traffic officials. The area witnesses heavy pedestrian movement due to metro commuters, IT professionals, and visitors to nearby commercial hubs. Frequent accidents and traffic delays prompted the authorities to design this project as a long-term solution.

Skywalk alignment

The proposed skywalk will begin at the Raidurgam Metro Station and extend via the IKEA flyover and IOCL junction up to T-Hub . This corridor experiences intense vehicular and pedestrian traffic, especially during peak office hours, often leading to unsafe road crossings and congestion.

The project is being developed with the support of the Cyberabad Security Council and in coordination with multiple private stakeholders. In the first phase, a 500-metre-long skywalk will be constructed. Additionally, plans are underway for a 400-metre underpass connecting T-Hub to Mindspace C-Gate . These measures aim to significantly enhance last-mile connectivity in the Cyberabad IT corridor.

By integrating skywalks and underpasses, authorities plan to create a continuous pedestrian network , ensuring safer movement for walkers while also enabling smoother vehicular flow. Officials estimate that traffic congestion along the Raidurgam–T-Hub route could reduce by nearly 30 per cent once the project is completed.
