Sky-High Patriotism: 108-Foot National Flag Hoisted in Mehdipatnam

Telangana Governor G. Dev Varma on Thursday unveiled a towering 108-foot national flag erected by the Indian Army at the Mehdi Patnam Garrison in the city. The ceremonial event celebrated the courage and dedication of all three branches of the armed forces.

Tribute to the Armed Forces

Addressing the gathering, the Governor paid tribute to the skill, selfless service, and sacrifices of the Indian Armed Forces and their families. He also commended the support of veterans and war widows , emphasizing the importance of instilling values of discipline and patriotism in NCC cadets.

Flag Foundation Collaboration

The Governor expressed gratitude to Naveen Jindal , President of the Flag Foundation of India , which sponsored the massive flag. He lauded the foundation’s efforts in fostering respect for the tricolor and promoting national pride .

Major General Rahul Dev Sharma, General Officer Commanding the Bison Division, described the high-mast flag as a symbol of excellent coordination between the civil administration and the Bison Division. The event was attended by senior Army officials, prominent citizens, servicemen, and a large number of NCC cadets.
