Six Foreign Women Arrested in Bengaluru for Alleged Public Solicitation, Probe On

Six foreign women were arrested in Bengaluru after police alleged they were involved in soliciting men for prostitution in a public place , officials said on Tuesday. However, the nationalities of the women have not been disclosed by the police .

The arrests were carried out on April 24 by the Women Protection Wing of the Central Crime Branch (CCB) following a tip-off regarding suspected illegal activities near the footpath of a bus stop close to Madiwala Check Post , which falls under the jurisdiction of the Koramangala Police Station .

According to police, acting on the information, officers immediately reached the location and conducted a verification. During the operation, they found that the women were allegedly engaging in solicitation of men passing by on the road for prostitution .

A statement issued by the office of the Commissioner of Police said that the raid was conducted swiftly after confirming the inputs. The women were subsequently detained for questioning.

During inquiry, the accused were asked to produce their passports and visa documents , but they reportedly failed to provide valid or satisfactory documentation , police said.

Following the operation, all six women were taken into custody and produced before the Koramangala Police Station along with a detailed report for further legal proceedings. A case has since been registered, and further investigation is underway to ascertain the circumstances and any possible wider network involved, officials added.

Police have not released further details regarding the identity or countries of origin of the arrested women as the investigation continues.
