Sivakarthikeyan’s ‘Parasakthi’ set for Pongal 2026 release

Tamil audiences are in for a festive treat as producers Dawn Pictures announced that Sivakarthikeyan’s much-anticipated action-drama Parasakthi will hit theaters on January 14, 2026, coinciding with the Pongal festival. The announcement marks exactly 100 days to go for the release.

The film stars Sivakarthikeyan, who has firmly established himself as one of Tamil cinema’s most bankable stars, known for his versatility across comedy, action, and socially relevant films. In Parasakthi , he takes on a role inspired by real events during the 1965 Anti-Hindi agitations, promising a powerful performance that showcases his dramatic range.

Directed by Sudha Kongara, the film also introduces Sreeleela in her Tamil debut alongside Rana Daggubati. Music is composed by G.V. Prakash Kumar, marking his 100th film as a composer. A Telugu-dubbed version is also in the works, expanding the film’s reach.

Parasakthi is set to compete at the box office with Vijay’s Jana Nayagan , setting up an exciting Pongal clash for Tamil cinema fans.
