Singareni Launches Vigilance Awareness Week Across Kothagudem Mines
Vigilance Awareness Week commenced on Monday across all mines and offices in the Kothagudem area under the aegis of Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL). As part of the programme, officers, employees and workers took a pledge to uphold honesty, integrity and transparency in their professional responsibilities and remain committed to preventing corruption.
V.V. Sudhakar Reddy, General Manager (PC&S), STPP, attended the programme as the chief guest and stressed the importance of eliminating corruption to ensure the country's progress. He said that building a corruption-free society was essential for India to advance on the path of development. He also underscored the need for individuals and institutions to demonstrate integrity and accountability in their day-to-day activities.
The pledge focused on protecting Singareni’s assets, strengthening transparency in workplace practices and ensuring greater accountability in coal production operations. Participants reaffirmed their commitment to safeguarding the organisation's resources and carrying out their responsibilities in accordance with established rules and ethical standards.
During the programme, officials explained various aspects of the company's rules and regulations, highlighting the importance of ethical values and preventive measures against corruption. They also emphasised the role of transparent administrative procedures in promoting responsible decision-making and maintaining public trust in institutional operations.
Employees and workers were urged to discharge their duties with honesty, dedication and a strong sense of responsibility. Officials stressed that maintaining integrity should not be limited to formal pledges but must be reflected in everyday workplace decisions and professional conduct.
The programme also highlighted the collective responsibility of all personnel in creating an environment where unethical practices are not tolerated. Officials called on employees across the Kothagudem area to actively contribute to strengthening accountability and maintaining high standards of conduct.
Through the observance of Vigilance Awareness Week, Singareni aims to reinforce awareness of anti-corruption practices and encourage a culture of transparency across its operations. The initiative serves as a reminder that protecting organisational resources, following ethical principles and ensuring accountability are essential to the company's effective functioning and long-term progress.
