The government has strengthened its digital skilling ecosystem by integrating the Skill India Digital Hub (SIDH) with the e-Shram Portal and launching an artificial intelligence-powered chatbot to improve access to training and employment services.

The integration enables workers registered on the e-Shram portal primarily from the unorganised sector to seamlessly explore and enrol in skill development courses available on SIDH . The initiative has been implemented at the national level, covering beneficiaries across multiple states.

In a parallel move, the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship has introduced the Skill India Assistant (SIA), a WhatsApp-based chatbot designed to provide personalised guidance on skilling and job opportunities. Built using Meta’s LLaMA technology, the chatbot offers course recommendations, information on nearby training centres, and employment options aligned with users’ skills. It also supports interactive features such as quizzes and query resolution, and is available -the-clock in English, Hindi, and Hinglish.

To enhance accessibility, SIDH has been integrated with Bhashini, enabling support for 22 regional languages and promoting inclusive digital learning.

The platform also provides digitally verifiable credentials compliant with open standards, allowing users to securely share certificates with employers and other stakeholders. This is expected to improve trust and portability of qualifications among job seekers.

Additionally, SIDH aggregates job opportunities from the National Career Service Portal and NSDC’s JobX platform, along with listings from MSMEs, while recruitment continues through the respective portals.

The latest measures aim to create a unified framework linking worker registration, skill development, and employment, thereby strengthening workforce participation and employability across the country.
