Shots Fired At Advocate’s Residence In Belagavi, No Injuries Reported

Unidentified miscreants allegedly opened fire at the residence of a woman advocate in Belagavi during the early hours of Sunday, police officials said.

The incident took place between 1 am and 2 am at the house of advocate Pooja Kakatkar , located on Mandoli Road . According to preliminary reports, the attackers targeted the first floor of the residence , where her daughter was reportedly studying at the time.

Investigators found bullet marks on the window glass , indicating that shots had been fired at the house. No injuries were reported , and all occupants are safe, officials confirmed.

A police team promptly visited the scene and collected the damaged glass with bullet marks , which has been sent to the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) for examination. Authorities said the forensic analysis is expected to provide crucial leads in identifying the assailants.

A case has been registered at the Belagavi Rural Police Station , and an investigation is currently underway.

Kakatkar, who has been practising law for over 18 years , is known for handling several high-profile cases , raising concerns about a possible motive behind the attack.

Police have assured protection for the advocate and her family and stated that further action will be taken based on the findings of the forensic report.
