Short-Term Action, Long-Term Vision: Inside Telangana’s 99-Day Plan
Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has launched a statewide 99-day governance programme titled Praja Palana – Pragati Pranalika , aiming to transform administrative delivery and ensure that government policies translate into real improvements in people’s lives. Emphasizing a service-oriented approach, he stated that the government sees itself as public servants , not rulers, and that success must be measured by the real-life impact on citizens rather than official records. The initiative is being implemented across Telangana , covering villages, towns, and cities, making it a comprehensive and participatory effort.
The programme is designed as a mass movement rather than a routine administrative exercise, with gram sabhas being conducted across the state to directly engage citizens. Officials at every level have been instructed to actively participate, resolve local grievances, and ensure efficient service delivery. This approach reflects a shift toward people-centric governance , where citizens play an active role in monitoring and shaping development outcomes while the administration focuses on accountability and accessibility.
At its core, the 99-day plan prioritizes the effective implementation of welfare schemes such as free bus travel for women, subsidised LPG cylinders, free electricity up to 200 units, housing support, and food security initiatives. The government has stressed that these benefits must reach every eligible beneficiary without delay. Alongside welfare delivery, the administration is focusing on transparency , faster file clearances, and improved functioning of government offices to eliminate bureaucratic bottlenecks and improve public trust.
Describing the initiative as a mission mode effort and a sacred commitment , the Chief Minister has set a defined timeline from March to June to ensure measurable outcomes. Continuous monitoring and performance reviews are being carried out to maintain accountability and deliver visible progress. This effort is also supported by broader reforms such as digitisation, administrative coordination, and improved governance systems aimed at long-term efficiency.
The programme is closely linked to the vision of Telangana Rising 2047 , which seeks to position the state as a global leader by strengthening key sectors like services, manufacturing, and agriculture. By aligning short-term action with long-term goals, the government aims to build a globally competitive economy while ensuring inclusive growth. The Chief Minister has called for collective participation from citizens, officials, and stakeholders, emphasizing that governance is a shared responsibility.
Ultimately, the success of this initiative will depend on consistent implementation, administrative efficiency, and sustained political will. If executed effectively, the 99-day programme could redefine governance in Telangana by strengthening accountability , improving service delivery, and building lasting trust between the government and the people.
