Sharad Pawar, NCP (SP) president and Rajya Sabha member , has been admitted to Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai for a routine medical check-up and follow-up monitoring , sources confirmed on Tuesday.

According to hospital and party sources, the 85-year-old leader was admitted two days ago and is currently under medical observation and scheduled diagnostic tests . Doctors have clarified that his condition is stable and not serious , and there is no requirement for emergency treatment or intensive care .

Sources also noted that the admission is precautionary , particularly as part of continued health monitoring after a recent cycle of hospital visits. He had been discharged from a Pune hospital earlier this year following treatment for chest infection and dehydration , and was later advised rest and periodic check-ups.

Earlier reports indicate that Pawar was also admitted to Breach Candy Hospital in February for follow-up care after dehydration , reflecting ongoing routine supervision due to age-related health concerns.

Despite these health episodes, Pawar has remained active in public life. Recently, he took the oath as a Rajya Sabha member while seated in a wheelchair , and has continued attending political engagements, including media interactions in Delhi.

Party leaders have reiterated that there is no cause for concern , stating that his current hospitalisation is part of planned medical evaluation and observation.

Doctors are expected to complete the ongoing tests before deciding on discharge, though sources suggest he may be discharged once routine checks are completed and reports are reviewed.
