Shah Rukh Khan returns as Filmfare awards host after 17 Years
Superstar Shah Rukh Khan is making a grand comeback as host of the Filmfare Awards after a 17-year gap. The 70th edition of the prestigious awards ceremony will be held on October 11 in Ahmedabad , with SRK sharing the stage alongside filmmaker Karan Johar and actor-host Maniesh Paul.
Reflecting on his return, the 59-year-old actor said, “From the first time I held the Black Lady in my hands, to sharing countless memories with my colleagues and fans over the years; it’s been a journey of love, cinema, and magic. To return as a co-host for the 70th year is truly special, and I promise we’ll make it a night to remember, full of laughter, nostalgia and celebration of the movies we all love.”
Khan has long been synonymous with Filmfare’s most memorable hosting moments. He teamed up with Saif Ali Khan in 2003 and 2004, creating an iconic comic duo, and later hosted in 2007 with Johar. His last full-fledged hosting stint was at the 53rd Filmfare Awards in 2008 , where he shared the stage with Saif, Johar, and Vidya Balan. Since then, he has only made brief appearances as a guest host.
Johar, too, expressed his excitement about returning to the Filmfare stage: “Filmfare is not just an award, it’s a legacy that has shaped the very narrative of Indian cinema and continues to live across generations. From the year 2000, I have attended almost every Filmfare Awards and hosted many as well. As we celebrate 70 glorious years, I am truly delighted to co-host what promises to be one of the most memorable nights ever.”
With SRK back in his element, fans can expect the 70th Filmfare Awards to be a dazzling evening filled with wit, glamour, and a heavy dose of nostalgia.
