
Seven arrested, minor apprehended in Delhi Holi clash killing
Delhi Police on Monday arrested seven more individuals and apprehended a minor in connection with the killing of 26-year-old Tarun during a Holi clash between two families in Uttam Nagar, southwest Delhi . With the latest arrests, 14 people, including two minors, are now in custody.
Among those three women — Sayra alias Kali (40), Sharifan (50), and Salma (36) — were among those arrested, along with men Suhail alias Sahil (21), Sameer Chauhan (20), Firoj (22), and Ismile (50). A 14-year-old minor was also taken into custody. Police said the clash started after a water balloon thrown by a young girl from the victim’s family splashed Sayra alias Kali , leading to a verbal argument that escalated into violence on March 4 . Tarun sustained severe injuries and died at a hospital the next day.
Dwarka DCP Kushal Pal Singh warned against spreading misleading AI-generated videos on social media. “Those spreading false content will face arrest. The situation in the area is peaceful,” he said.
Police have deployed forces across zones, sectors, and sub-sectors, including Rapid Action Force and CRPF personnel. Meanwhile, the Municipal Corporation of Delhi conducted a demolition drive, removing illegal portions of a house linked to one of the accused. Investigation is ongoing as authorities continue efforts to apprehend others involved.
